I have built and maintained many *nix boxes over the years. My first real experience was with Solaris, but I am quite familiar with all of the various flavors now. I am a big Debian fan, they provide nice stable updates, I rarely have problems with them.

I have experience installing, configuring and maintaining many different services on *nix boxes, including MySQL, Apache, PHP, BIND, Apache, SSL, SSH, SFTP, ProFTP, Sendmail, Qmail.

I also have experience writing C++ programs for *nix. I have written an SMTP program, a service to listen for UDP packets and report problems when large numbers come in on a particular port, as well as several utility programs I just wanted to write. I have also done some programming for Linux desktop environments.

I have been using Microsoft Windows since the 3.1 days. I was a beta tester for Windows 95 and am familiar with all of the Windows family of products including XP, XP Pro, NT, Server (2000 and 2003, have not got my hands on 2008 yet,) Media Center Edition and Vista. I am capable of installing, repairing or programming for any of these operating systems.
